Stephen Alder, MBA, PhD
Professor Stephen Alder serves as the president of Ensign Global College, formerly Ensign College of Public Health. In addition to his role at Ensign Global, Professor Alder is a Tenured Professor and Executive Director of the Center for Business, Health, and Prosperity at the University of Utah located in Salt Lake City. He also serves as the University of Utah’s Special Advisor for West Africa Programs.
Professor Alder is a Health Ecologist whose work focuses on global health and development. He brings expertise in public health, community engagement, health administration, and analytics to Ensign Global's leadership team.
He completed his Executive MBA at the University of Oxford, where he is a member of Green Templeton College. His current work includes developing models for using a social franchising-based approach known as Health 2 Go to bring last mile health services to underserved communities around the world and is one of the central leaders of the Health and Economic Recovery Outreach [or HERO] Project at the University of Utah in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Professor Alder was formerly the President of the University of Utah Academic Senate and is a recipient of the Perlman Award from the University of Utah Alumni Association.
